AI Content Engine ("the app", "we") is a Shopify app that rewrites product-page content and generates images inside a merchant's Shopify store. This policy explains what data the app accesses, how it is used, and who it is shared with.

Information we access

• Store & account data: your Shopify store domain, the app installation, and your plan/usage counts, so we can operate the app and apply your subscription.
• Product & theme data: product titles, descriptions, types, images and the theme templates you choose to work on — read only when you run a generation, and only for the products and templates you select.
• AI provider keys: if you supply your own AI API key, it is encrypted at rest and never shown or logged in plain text.

We do not access, store, or process your customers' personal information, orders, or payment details. The app operates only within the Shopify admin and never adds scripts to your storefront.

How we use it

• To generate rewritten text and images, the relevant product and template content is sent to our AI provider (OpenAI) solely to produce the requested output. Only the data needed for generation is sent.
• To meter usage against your plan and to publish approved content back to your theme or products when you click Publish.

Third parties

• Shopify — hosts your store and processes all billing; charges appear on your regular Shopify invoice.
• OpenAI — generates text and images from the content you submit. See OpenAI's API data-usage terms; content sent via the API is not used to train their models.

Data storage & security

Templates, drafts, generated content, per-store settings and the merchant-visible Activity timeline are stored on our secured server. Activity entries contain concise action descriptions and timestamps, never prompts, coupon values, API keys or uploaded file paths. Access tokens and any merchant-supplied API keys are encrypted at rest. Data is retained while the app is installed.

Data deletion & GDPR

We honor Shopify's mandatory data-protection webhooks: customer data request, customer redact, and shop redact. When you uninstall the app, or on a shop-redact request, your store's data is deleted. You may also request deletion at any time by contacting us.

Your rights

You can request a copy of, or deletion of, the data associated with your store at any time by emailing us. Because the app does not collect end-customer personal data, requests concern store-level data only.
